Glorious Hartley Open Mixed Doubles

Superb Indian summer weather greeted 26 teams on Sunday 14th October for the Hartley Open Mixed Doubles competition.
Of the 26 teams, 16 hailed from Hartley and 10 from elsewhere but the level of representation was good with Angie and Lee Jamieson from Sussex and Tracey Turner and Kevin Spillett from Plough and Chequers in attendance amongst a significant cast of players.
The Jamieson's made it through the morning but were beaten in the quarters by Mags and Ron Yates. The Spilletts also failed in the quarter finals, losing to Mick and Joyce Nash.
16 teams went into the Main and 10 into the Plate. Competition continued on into the early evening with an impressive number of knocked-out players staying to watch. As one visitor noted "the Hartley teams really support each other".
