Hartley Open Doubles held
in glorious late summer weather

Once again the
weather was kind to Hartley Country Club with bright sunshine, but with the
wind taking the edge off the temperature.
15 teams
assembled to compete for the £180 purse and 4 leagues were drawn with the
winners and runners up of each league advancing to the afternoon main
competition.
The plate had
seven teams contesting for the spoils and finally produced Angie and Lee
Jameson, from East Midlands, as winners in a close contest triumphing 13 -
10 over Larry Belcher and Roy Pemberton of Lordswood.
The semi final
losers in the main competition were Rae and Keith Wall of
Hartley and Colin Senneck and David Brooks also of Hartley.
The winners
were Faye and Steve Golder of Tovil and Old Sheaf respectively who beat
Mags and Ron Yates (Hartley) in another close final belied by the
score of 13 - 6.
