Indian Summer Melee almost washed out

Sunday 1st October

The largest number of players to take part in the latest of these regular and popular events (40) got a glimpse of the future when Colin unveiled the latest gizmo from the World championships:  the "soon to be official" plastic 49 cm circle to replace the old "hand / foot drawn" version.  Everyone seemed to like it except Jeni (who else ?) who thought it was either:

                                    a) too small
                                    b) too big
                                    c) too fiddly
                                    d) too heavy
(send your answer to Chris Tarrant)
Unfortunately, by the end of round 4 the skies opened and ladies' freshly arranged hairdos got messed up so we gave up on the fifth and final round. The lucky loser, who took home the best booby prize ever, was Janet Deamer.  The winner was John Bradley who took home 4 bottles of Bordeaux grand cru wines (or similar).   Finally, the event raised £ 60 for the club.  Well done everyone!

The next one will probably be on Sunday 17 December.  Details on the notice board later...
