Hartley has another national champion

Junior player Charles Fribbens added another junior national trophy to the Fribbens and Hartley trophy hauls when he was a member of the triumphant Kent triple in the EPA National Junior Triples competition held at Ventnor, Isle of Wight on Sunday 24 September 2006.

Playing with partners Robert Cooter (GRFC), Philip Jarrett (P&C) and Alex Bruce (Vale Tavern), he had a very successful days play.

Following a disappointment on Saturday in the EPA National Junior Doubles (partnered with Alex Bruce), he helped the triples team to a massive 5 wins out of 5 with a points score of 75-14 in the triples snake (13-3, 13-3, 13-6, 13-0, 13-2).  The team were awesome with no other team looking like challenging them.  They met a team in the final from Southern region that they had earlier fannied and, with one small blip when they allowed Southern to come back to 4-4, they again were magnificent and won 13-6.  Each of the boys played well, First pointing from Charles was consistent and accurate, backed up by excellent pointing from Robert Cooter.  Philip Jarrett also stepped in and took over in the same vein and Alex Bruce is a top-class senior shooter in the making.

The team was well supported with fellow juniors Jennifer Cooter (GRFC), Sam Littley (Villager) and Dean Ashby (Tovil) supporting noisily along with parents and siblings which certainly helped bolster the boys' confidence.
